Fall is here and it is the perfect time to start cleaning and get organized for the holiday season. Here are some tips to make things a little easier.

1. Start from the top and work your way down

This is a good cleaning tip in general. Always begin your cleaning from the top and work your way down so that you are not back tracking. Start by washing down the walls and ceiling fans and then work your way to the floor.

2. Use Old Socks

You can attach old socks to broom handles or swiffers  to get high up on the walls or in hard to reach places. Just soak them with water and an all purpose cleaner and reach the top of cabinets or ceiling fans. You can also attach socks to some kitchen tongs and use them to dust the blinds.

3.Declutter as you clean

Get rid of things that you no longer use. Broken toys, clothes that no longer fit you, that knick knack that you got for Christmas last year that it just taking up space. Bring a garbage bag and a box with you from room to room so you can either put them in trash or donate them.

4.Have your chimney cleaned

Have a chimney sweep come and clean your fireplace before the cold weather hits and you want to start a fire. It will be easier to book an appointment when the weather is still warm and you can have the piece of mine that your house and family are safe from any potential chimney fires.
